Is Fox just content in counting their "American Idol" money? It wouldn't seem so. They've got more new entries than they've had in years and none of them are reality-based. We won't be seeing "When Newscasters Attack" anytime soon. What they do have are two new comedies and five new dramas. They've placed "The War At Home" (one of the new comedies) smack in the middle of their Sunday animation block. While I realize they don't have another place for it, it's not a good idea. Moving "Arrested Development" to Monday to pair with "Kitchen Confidential" could work, but it needs to go against the first hour of CBS' Monday Night Comedy. I would have put "Arrested" with "That Ô70's Show" on Wednesday. But that's me.
Of the five dramas, "Prison Break" is the stand out, "Reunion" is the most unique and the others just are. I believe I've tagged "Killer Instinct" as the number three choice to get the ax.
Until "Idol" (and to a lesser extent "24") returns in January (moving "Bones" to the post-"Idol" slot), it would seem that Fox is treading a little bit of water. But they most definitely are trying.
