	i opine... Yet another sci-fi mystery to try and capitalize on the success of "Lost" I know the secret, which I won't disclose here. It could be interesting and might build an audience with encore plays on Sci-Fi Channel. NBCU synergy at work.

	the breakdown   NBC's in a different place, literally, since the late '80s. They have no choice but to let shows build audiences. The slot for "Surface"is 100% couterprogramming, so it's got a decent shot. Might be better swapping with "'Three Wishes" on Friday even if it would put it head-to-head with CBS' "Threshold".
