concept from	When his best friend (Jason Segel) announces his engagement, Ted (Josh Radnor) gets anxious to discover the love of his life, despite the scoffing of snarky bud Barney (Neil Patrick Harris). Could gorgeous TV-reporter Robin (Cobie Smulders) be the one? The story is told in flashback from the year 2030, as a grown-up Ted (voice: Bob Saget) relates his romantic-comedy misadventures to his kids.

i opine...

I wasn't too high on the idea even with Neil Harris and Allyson Hannigan in the cast. At first read it seemed like a grown-up "The Wonder Years" from (the year) 2030. The clips changed my mind. They need to be very careful about their history: pay attention to the writing, don't get boxed in with stories and DO NOT contradict yourself later. Yes, I know it's a comedy, but errors like that really distract me. (I'll only mention how hot Cobie Smudlers is once.) I actually WANT to see this show. That hasn't happened for me with a non-spinoff in quite some time.

the breakdown
	Full season. It's got one of the best slots for a sitcom on any sked. This will continue CBS' comedy dominance on Monday nights.
